Susan G Komen Foundation , Donations and sponsors contributions are down find out why

It is up to each individual to come to there own conclusion on matters such as these but this topic does give heed for “Food For Thought” Prostate Cancer in Men is also at all time highs. Very scary for all of us and our families. What really is the TRUTH ?

If you go to the Foundations Web site as I did and search for any information about diet, nutrition, possible links to breast cancer or how about how much money goes to research finding out what foods cause cancer. You will not find any. I would think a prevenative topic might be a good start to stop Breast Cancer. The fact that Dairy/ Excess and Animal Protien along with sugar is the biggest cancer driver and drives it. Diet is the most important factor for not only preventing cancer and tumors from growing but also stopping the Cancer from growing.

To avoid cancer from growing you need to avoid Processed oils, sugar, salt, wheat, milk products, and excess animal protien, along with other toxins in the food you eat and the enviorment. So why does a foundation who who’s mission is awareness for Breast Cancer not talk about any of the reasons people get Cancer or how to prevent or stop cancer from spreading.

Susan G.Komen was formerly known as Susan G.Komen for the cure and originally as The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. It is the largest and best funded Breast Cancer in the United States.

According to the Harris Interactive 2010 Equi Trend annual Brand equity poll, Komen was once the most trusted non-profit organizations in America, in 2012 Komens decision to discontinue funding for Planned Parenthood was very controversial, attracting wide spread media attention and criticism and the organization’s reputation was damaged, resulting in a significant decline in donations and fundraising event participation. The organization has also been criticized for executive pay raises, administrative costs, affilliations with certain sponsors and claims that it used misleading statistics in advertising.

Intersting fact I did not know is Susan Goodman Komen was diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 33 and died at the age of 36 in 1980. Komens sister is the one who started the foundation in her sisters memory in 1982

The Mission Statement: Save lives by meeting the most critical needs in our communities and investing in breakthrough reserach to prevent and cure cancer.

Komen fiscal year, ending March 31 2010 reported aprox US 400 Million in earnings. Of this, $365 milliion came from contributions from the public, including donations, sponsorships, race entry fees, and contibuted goods and services. Aprox $35 million came from interest and dividens and gains on investments

The Komen CEO salaryin 2010 was $459,406 a year and Komen paid founder and CEO Nancy Brinker $417,712 in 2011. After the Planned Parenthood controversy, donations dropped and the foundation cancelled half of its fundraising “Race for the Cure” events, but Brinker recieved a 64% increase to 684,000 annually, which drew fire and was considered “extremely High” according to Charity Navigators CEO

In 2014 the CEO reported $483,483 on its annual return to the IRS. and also reported 13 other employees who each earned more than $175,000 of compensation, bonuses, retirement benefits and other benefits in 2014

The Organization raises over $36 million a year from over 60 Cause Marketing partnerships What is Cause marketing ? it is defined as a type of corporate social responsibility, in which a comapany’s promotional campaign has the dual purpose of increasing profitability while bettering society. Such as Yoplait, which runs the Save Lids to Save Lives program, and a partnership with Delta airlines. Cause marketing allows Komen to associate the breast cancer brand with its organization. By promoting “fear, hope, and goodness” associated with the breast cancer brand.

The Susan Komen race the worlds largest fundraising event for Breast Cancer is to raise awarness of the Disease, to celebrate those who have survived breast cancer and memorialize those who have not.

Komen benefit from corporate partnerships, recieving over 55 Million a year from 216 corporate sponsors, however critics say many of these promotions are deceptive to consumers and benefits the company more than Charity

Campaigns such as Yoplait yogurt save lids save lives, donated $25 million to Komen. Yoplait has an exclusive contract with the Foundation’
KFC paired with the foundation “Buckets for the Cure”

Most all information here was found on Wikapedia, Corncopia Institutes website and the book I read “Never Fear Cancer again” which was the first source that opened my eyes and shed light to the Dairy Industry which sends red flags and caution sighns.
I am becomming more and more alarmed about eating dairy which includes yogurt, my concern is also personal knowing my own daughter kept a 24 variety pack of Yoplait Yogurt in the fridge as a healthy snack for my grandchildren for over 10 years.
